Chinaplas 2024 in Shanghai (Chinaplas 2024 Shanghai) was held at
the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, China,
from April 23rd to 26th.
Last year, Chinaplas 2023 was held in Shenzhen, but due to
the sudden opening under the Zero COVID policy during the pandemic, participation from overseas was extremely limited.
The event primarily focused on domestic customers in China.
Knowing in advance that such a situation was expected and that
most of our overseas agents would not participate,
I also did not attend last year. Instead, I entrusted the responsibility to
Mr. Itagaki, the R＆D manager of Viscon Japan Corporation who oversees production quality management at our Shanghai factory along with
the staff of Viscon Shanghai.
This year, due to the Chinese government’s policy of attracting overseas customers, it is expected that many customers from countries
such as Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia will visit without visas.
Even before the event, there has been a surge in inquiries from our
overseas agents asking whether I will participate in the Chinaplas exhibition. This indicates that I can anticipate a lively Chinaplas exhibition,
which hasn’t been seen for a while, thanks to the influx of overseas customers anticipated from the outset.

The brand name “日本得水” is well recognized brand in China.
However, the brand name “Viscon Japan” is not widely known among customers in China, just like in any other region outside of China.
“Viscon Japan” is world brand name except China.
Even in Japan, company name is registered Viscon Japan 株式会社,
not registered as ビスコン ジャパン 株式会社.
“Since its establishment and listing in 2015, Viscon Japan has revolutionized the conventional understanding of viscosity controllers.”
Viscon Japan has received recognition from Asian customers for its strong development capabilities. The company has already obtained two official patents and has two additional patent applications awaiting approval (PAT.P).
Viscon Japan’s official blog (both in Japanese and English) has been created in Japan, along with Facebook and YouTube channels, enabling convenient access for customers from our 25 global markets. However, a major issue is that these social media platforms are entirely inaccessible in China. Therefore, during the pandemic, as more people stayed in Japan, we launched the official Viscon Japan Blog (in Japanese and English), YouTube, and Facebook pages three years ago.
Since the event is in China, we have edited and uploaded photos excluding those of Chinese customers, who were the most numerous visitors to the Viscon booth.
